MacKay: Concerts good deal for city

The concert promoter embroiled in a city hall scandal says the shows he brought to the Halifax Commons last summer were a good deal for the city, and the heat the mayor and the former top bureaucrat are taking is unfair.

Harold MacKay said Monday that there was a big return for the $400,000 advanced to his company, Power Promotional Events, for the July 24 Black Eyed Peas concert and the Aug. 6-7 Country Rocks show featuring Alan Jackson.
