The Issues

Among the many issues that face the city is the revamping of Metro Transit below are links to additional detail of how the city deals with a complaint regarding the service provided. It is now nearing four months since I sent the first email and other that the PR responses detailed below I’ve not received any further documentation on this issue…. how long should it take?

Regarding Metro Transit Rout 18 From Spring Garden & South Park

Dear Sir:

This is not an easy letter for me to write because in general I feel that the service provided by Metro Transit has improved greatly over the past five years. I live in the top end of Clayton Park (District 10) and work, socialize & find my entertainment in the Downtown Business District, and for most of the past 20 years have either walked the 10 k [each way] or relied on Metro Transit. Over the past 10 years my time has become more restrictive & I don’t have the 2.5hrs required to do the round trip by foot so riding the bus has become a daily occurrence. See More …

WITH a roaring success on its hands, Metro Transit must fulfil its part of the bargain with commuters.

The agency in charge of transit buses in Halifax Regional Municipality expanded its service a couple of years back, putting in place a park-and-ride program under the name of MetroLink.

Fancy new buses – complete with special chairs, bike racks and the ability to trigger traffic lights – were put on the roads, resulting in faster travel between outlying areas and downtown Halifax. Part of the deal was free parking, allowing motorists to park their vehicles nearer home and be transported to work faster and more conveniently. See More …
